Black Therapists Rock (BTR) is a grassroots organization founded by Deran Young with the mission to reduce stigma and increase access to mental health resources within marginalized communities, particularly the Black community. The organization mobilizes a collective of Black mental health professionals, fostering education, advocacy, and healing through a culturally responsive lens.
BTR serves as both a support network and a movement for systemic change, promoting wellness, representation, and inclusivity in mental health care. Through training, community engagement, events, and public education, BTR creates pathways for Black therapists and wellness practitioners to thrive while also empowering the communities they serve.
The organization has played a key role in elevating conversations around cultural trauma, intergenerational healing, and social justice in mental health. As a rapidly growing platform, Black Therapists Rock continues to advocate for more accessible, equitable, and informed approaches to care.
